Alan Partridge may be reanimated
again in the not too distant future; but this time he is set for the big, silver
screen.
Steve
Coogan’s dysfunctional chat show host/radio presenter is planned to feature in
his own big-budget,Hollywood film; the story to be set around Alan’s
attempts to make a name for himself in
America.
Although the character was
supposed to have his final say at the close of his 2002 BBC2 series, in the wake
of mixed reviews for Around The World In
80 Days
, Coogan stated of
the Partridge project that he’d, “be over the moon if the decision is made to go
ahead.”
He claimed that, “in certain
industry circles there’s a little cult going on about my work.” Screen funny men
Ben Stiller, Matthew Perry and Jack Black are rumoured to have expressed an
interest in appearing.
