The
Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy
made its way to the silver screen with almost as much anticipation as The Phantom Menace and was greeted by
fans with almost as much disappointment.
But of course, if you’re a true
fan then chances are (despite thinking the producers may have watered down a
classic piece of British comedy and desecrated the good name of a dead icon) you
will want the DVD as part of your collection.
Due for a
two disk release on5th
September 2005, 8 days before the
US
release with
rrp at £22.99.
Buena Vista’s press release claims that,
“Martin Freeman leads a star-studded cast of wayward travellers in this zany and
hilarious adaptation of Douglas
Adams’
cult classic. The film retains its dry British humour through the
droll, omnipotent narration. The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy is the
ingenious, fun-filled action comedy of the year.”
Anyway, amongst the extra
features are supposedly a series of scenes specifically filmed not to be put in
the film but for the DVD release which sounds to me that they knew they were
going to need a gimmick or some sorts to boost sales.
