Robin Williams and Mandy Moore are set to star in the romantic comedy License
to Wed. Filming starts in May. Ken Kwapis will direct.
The plot (such as it is in a romantic comedy) is all about how John
Krasinski's character is trying to get married to Mandy Moore. However,
Williams, the father, has a particular plan in mind to test his potential
son-in-law's eligibility.
As a Church minister, he demands that a pre-nuptual course is taken at his
church. When Krasinki fails, he looses both his place in the church and his
girl, and must fight to win them back.
Ho hum. All sounds quite predictable. Funny.co.uk had hoped that Williams had
learnt that his best acting roles have been when he's been let totally off the
least (Aladdin, Hook), or when he's playing evil (One Hour Photo). This sounds
like it might not be one of his better films.
Still, we're often wrong.
