Age 2: The Meltdown has become the first film of 2006 to pass the $100m mark
at the US Box Office.
The animated comedy, starring the voices of Denis Leary, John Leguizamo and
Ray Romano, amongst an impressive cast, continues the adventures of Manny, Diego
and Sid as they try to help their friends escape the impending flood.
The film maintained it's number one position in the charts, ahead of baseball
comedy The Benchwarmers, starring David Spade and Rob Schneider.
The Benchwarmers was not given preview screenings, ususally a sign that the
producers think it is a bad film, but it still took just over $20m in the three
day weekend.
We'd also like to note that Basic Instinct 2 has dropped out of the top ten
after one week.
