It's been a good week for comedy films in the UK Film charts, with The Wild
crashing into third place, behind only X-Men: The Last Stand and The Da Vinci
Code.
The Wild , starring Keifer Sutherland and Eddie
Izzard (who, by some reviews, utterly steals the second half of the film)
has a somewhat similar plot to last years Madagascar
in that a group of New York Zoo animals have to break out and rescue one of
their number.
Other film comedies in the chart this week include
Curious George, another animated comedy about a monkey with a taste for
adventure, and romantic comedy Prime
starring Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep.
Ice
Age 2: the Meltdown hangs on in eight and has now taken almost £30m in the
UK - that little squirrel Scrat is the undoubted star of that one - with
Jennifer Aniston's Friends With Money sitting at ninth.
Lastly, the comedy film Waiting is in 10th position. Ryan Reynolds stars as
the head waiter in a resturant, and the film follows the antics of the staff as
they try to keep themselves entertained.
