It was another close race for the No.1 spot in this weeks US film chart, but
once again those speedy Cars got there first.
The Pixar animation, starring Paul Newman and Owen Wilson, tells the tale of
Lightning McQueen, a sports car forced to do community service out in the middle
of nowhere. Newman voices Doc Hudson, a car with a mysterious past.
Newman has also recently said that he may be finished with the movie
business. "When it's time to get out, it's time to get out. I will probably have
one film left in me - the last hurrah."
Cars took just under £17m, with Jack Black's new comedy Nacho Libre coming in
second with just under £15m.
Nacho Libre tells the story of a young cook in a religious orphanage, who
tries to save it from closure by becoming a masked wrestler. It's a slapstick
comedy and if you're a fan of Black's humour, well worth a
shot.
