Johnny Depp is all set to reprise his role as Jack Sparrow ("CAPTAIN Jack
Sparrow") as the Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest has had it's
premiere in Disneyland.
The film is a sequel to the worldwide smash hit Pirates of the Carribean: The
Curse of the Black Pearl and reunites Depp, Keira Knightely, Orlando Bloom, UK
comedy star Mackenzie Crook and adds Bill Nighy to the mix as Davy Jones
himself.
Depp was quotes at the premiere saying "We were able to put a few new things
in. Bits and bobs."
He also confirmed that Keith Richards, the Rolling Stones musician whom
Sparrow is based on, is in talks to appear in the third film, possibly as
Sparrow's father.
PotC: DMC (if you'll allow me to abbreviate), along with the forthcoming
Superman Returns are being held up as the films that will get people into the
cinema this summer, as audience figures have dropped each year since 2002 in the
US.
Personally, we suggest that if film-makers want more people in the cinemas
they should make better films, and not greenlight some of the rubbish we got
last year. Stealth, for example.
Never mind, we've still got Snakes On A Plane to look forward
to.
