Cross dressing standup comedian Eddie Izzard (pictured
left) is to play the voice of an eight thousand year old sand fairy in a movie version of the classic children's book
"Five Children And It", by E. Nesbitt. The movie is currently being filmed
and is expected to be released sometime next year.
Those of you in your late teens or early twenties may well remember the
original screen adaptation of the book which appeared as a series on Childrens
BBC in 1991.
Izzard will appear alongside Kenneth Branagh and Zoe Wanamaker, both of whom,
having appeared in the Harry Potter films, already have experience working with
snivelling little creatures.
