The comedy partnership of Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer are making their TV
come-back and reviving a couple of their old characters for a new sitcom,
"Catterick".
The characters in question, social club workers Chris and Carl, appeared in
Vic and Bob's last sketch series, "Bang Bang: It's Reeves And Mortimer", in
1999.
The six part series, which is yet to go into production, will see Chris and
Carl bumping into various characters, including a jazz fusion DJ played by
comedian Mark Benton, while they are on the road in search of Carl's missing
son.
In an interview with Teletext Benton, who will also play several other
characters, said "I've seen the script and some of it is so bizarre, but Vic and
Bob are geniuses."
Apparently Bob is a fan of "24" so the show will be set in real-time and
follow the first three hours together of the two brothers meeting for the first
time in 15 years. It's not been announced when the show will be aired, but
expect to see it sometime in 2004 on BBC 2 and 3.
