Broadcaster Sir David Frost is to make a slight
detour away from his current more serious political programmes and return to his
comic roots, to feature in a new political satire show from Frost's "Paradigm"
production company.
"The Strategic Humour initiative", which is being said by some to bear some
similarities to Frost's Sixties series: That Was The Week That Was, will feature
comics from Britain, Canada and America. The show will include
satirical analysis of America's role on the international stage. British
comic Jimmy Carr is lined up to appear on the show.
A spokesman for the show said: "As a Brit who's also an honorary American,
Frost will say things about the States that sometimes only your best friends can
tell you."
A pilot for the show is being filmed at October 13th for
broadcast, on PBS in America and on CBC in Canada, in the near future. The
UK rights for the show are yet to be bought up by any UK channels, who are
perhaps waiting to see how the show goes down accross the pond before making any
decisions.
