Bruce Forsyth is to present a new BBC1 quiz show, in his first regular
televsion appointment with the BBC for eight years. The title of the new
show is based on one of Forsyth's well known catch phrases "Didn't they do
well", which was regularly heard on the 'Conveyor-belt challenge' bit of the
generation game (a bit like being at the checkout at Tesco's with your Club
Card, only different).
The new quiz show will be a test of general knowedge that uses the television
archives in a unique way - using classic TV moments to provide what the BBC are
calling an "Inovative play-along quiz."
Speaking about the new show the seventy-five year old veteran entertainer
said "I'm very excited to be doing this show, and I'm looking forward to working
for the BBC again."
Forsyth was offered the job after impressing
programme makers with his appearance as a guest presenter on Have I Got News For
You earlier this year.
Filming of 'Didn't They Do Well' starts later this month and the show is
expected to broadcast early next year.
