After finishing work on her new novel 'Sorting Out Billy'
(expected to be released May 2004), Jo Brand
is now writing a new sitcom for ITV. The
sitcom, in which Jo will be playing one of the lead characters alongside Honor
Blackman, will be about a group of Nuns.
However, early into the writing Jo discovered that penning the storylines was
harder than she had expected. To spin plots around the jokes she was
writing, Brand recruited comedy writer Gerry McNulty to write alongside her.
Speaking about the new show, Jo Brand said: "I started off writing it on my
own, but then I realised that I was rubbish at writing plots. It was just a
string of jokes."
"The nuns are all middle-aged and elderly women and live in a really run-down
place."
We will keep you posted on the release date of this new sitcom when we have
it.
