Previously we reported that The Office star Lucy Davis had turned down the chance to play alongside Cameron Diaz in her new film, as the "ugly sister" role was less than desirable! Now Lucy has has landed a Plum role in a new sitcom penned by Friends star Lisa Kudrow.

She will be starring alongside Aisha Tyler who also starred in Friends as Ross' love interest Charlie. Lucy was being understandably tight-liped about the role but conceded being "excited about having having so many offers coming in."

With The Office  scooping two golden globes in January, American Audiences can be sure to see a lot more of Lucy in the future. Apparently she's gained notoriety with her previous roles and is finding that it takes some getting used to! "I find it odd that American producers know who I am before I meet them!" She added "I want to have a go at cracking America, so that I dont regret not having a go when I'm older."

It is clear that Ms Davis is at a stage in her career where the world really is becoming her oyster, with both her and office creator Ricky Gervais currently being awash with offers. One guesses that if she keeps dodging the dross and choosing her roles carefully the sky could really be the limit!
