It's been a big year or so for Little
Britain. The Matt Lucas and David
Walliams
creation was an instant hit with comedy fans,
has picked up a prize or two at almost every major television awards
ceremony, the first series is released on DVD in October as a two-disc set and
rumours abound that the second series will jump straight to the bright lights
and multi-million viewing figures of a primetime BBC One slot.
So where can the great Lucas and Walliams
go from here? Out on the road of course! In an interview with
Teletext the pair discussed their plans to take "Little
Britain
" on tour.
"We're thinking of doing a live show at some point next year." said
Lucas, "It will feature a selection of characters from the show."
"We love dressing up," added Walliams "especially as women. You'll be
able to hear all the catchphrases like 'I want that one'."
When quizzed about what was in store for the next series of the TV
show he remained tight-lipped: "We want to keep the new characters a secret but
there are some pretty bizarre ones coming up,
"We've got something even more
repulsive than sucking on Granny's toes for the British public. So watch through
those gaps in your hands."
