Comedian Lenny Henry has been announced as one of the nominations in
the comedy category at this year's Emma's (Ethnic Multicultural Media
Awards).
He find himself pitted against BBC Three's "3 Non
Blondes", stand up comedian Inder Manocha
, stand-up comedian Russel Peters and "The Kumars" star Meera
Syal.
Syal was also nominated for the award last year, losing out to the
ukulele playing comedienne Ria Lina, although "The Kumars At No. 42" did take
home the gong for Best TV Entertainment Production.
The winners of the comedy award, and the 18 other categories, are
decided by a public vote via the EMMA website. The ceremony takes place at the
Grosvenor House Hotel in London on May 24 and will be screened the
following Sunday (the 30th) on BBC Two.
