In the space a week America has lost two of it's most popular sitcoms. First
"Friends" came to an end with a 50million viewer
send-off, and now just seven days later, on Thursday night, "Frasier" also
came to an end.
The show, which followed the life of radio psychiatrist
Frasier Crane, played by Kelsey Grammer (pictured), began in 1993 as a spin-off from
the Sitcom "Cheers", in which the character had first appeared in 1984. It
went on to spawn 11 seasons, winning countless awards, including 31 Emmys, and much critical acclaim.
While not as impressive as Friends' viewing figures, it still attracted a
sizeable 24million viewers. UK viewers have yet to find out when the
episode will be shown, but Channel 4 have hinted at the end of
June.
