Will it be third time lucky for
topical news/comedy TV quiz show Have I
Got News For You as another deal is underway to see it transported across the
Atlantic
for US audiences.
After deals between Hat Trick
Productions and the ABC network collapsed in 1999 and were abandoned again
following the September 11th
attack, the cable station Bravo has now picked up the tab to produce a pilot
episode later this year.
Bravo is a sister company of NBC
which means if the show proves to be successful then it could end up being aired
on the larger network.
Hat Trick Productions were
successful with the UK/US conversion of comedy quiz show Whose Line Is it Anyway? proving that this style of show should be easily translated for the
American market. And god knows they’ve got an
endless supply of material to be getting along with at the
moment.
