It would appear that despite the popularity and
hype for the new series of Bo Selecta amongst Britain's youth, the show has
proved to be a bit of a ratings flop. Bo Selecta, a cult classic among
people who probably know what "bling" means, has been thrashed in the
ratings by old-school stand-up Jim Davidson; who is popular amongst people who
know both what "BNP" and "Stana Stair-lift" means.
Avid Merrion and friends totted up a total of 2.6 million viewers on Channel
4 on Friday night, a small patch on the 4 million that Davidson notched
up. Here at Funny.co.uk we're not particularly big fans of Bo Selecta, but
to be strung-up and roundly thrashed by Jim Davidson, has the world gone
mad? - (to cut'n'paste a headline from the Daily Mail website.... )
You can see our review of the first episode in Jim Davidson's new series HERE,
which was recorded in Llandudno, North Wales. We should point out that,
here in the Funny.co.uk news room, we were reviewing the show as it went out on
Friday, and as such had two television sets on. This may have skewed the
ratings figures somewhat. We can't apologise enough.
