Next month ITV1 are to launch a new comedy, chat and entertainment show. The
Dan & Dusty Show stars two puppets, the eponymous Dan and Dusty,
as they interview various B-list celebrities while introducing the
latest music, magic and (most importantly, as far as we're concerned) stand-up
comedy.
The puppets themselves are very "Spitting Image" in style, so it comes
as little suprise that the voices behind Dan and Dusty, Nigel Plaskitt and
Steve Nallon respectively, were both involved with that show in the 80's and
90's. Steve Nallon is probably best known as the voice of Mrs Thatcher and
over the years has worked on shows with Mike Yarwood and Alister McGowan.
The guests, wheeled out from celebrity retirement villages across
the UK, include such superstars as Uri Gellar,
Nicholas Parsons, Paul Daniels and Tony Blackburn. The stand ups should
provide a bit more to get excited about and acts including the recent "Funny Women 2004"
award winner Zoe Lyons will hopefully make sitting through a load of
spoon bending all worthwhile.
