Jimmy Carr has been signed up by Comedy Central to take his sado-masochistic game show, Distraction, across the pond to the states.

The Channel 4 show, hosted by Carr, features contestants being exposed to various torturous and humiliating devices while they answer questions. Things like electrocution, eating maggots, cacti around the buzzer, etc.

Comedy Central, who signed up Graham Norton earlier this year, has signed Carr for a 14 show series to air in the autumn. A spokesman said, “We are huge fans of Jimmy’s dry, cutting style. We could have spent months trying to cast someone else, but at the end of the day, they wouldn’t have been as funny as the original.”

Jimmy Carr stated, “I literally can't believe my luck - torturing Americans should not only be easy, but a pleasure.”
