The BBC have announced some of the guest stars, acts and general
silliness that will accompany this years Comic Relief Fundraising
event.
All the usual parts will once again mesh into a mostly seamless whole,
including a charity pop single by McFly, the telethon itself on March 11th - put
the date in your diaries now! - and a new Celebrity Fame Academy contest.
In actual comedy news, a series of new Little Britain sketches will also be
shown throughout the night, featuring a variety of guest stars including Robbie
Williams and Sir Elton John. The compiled sketches will then be sold as a DVD to
help further the fundraising efforts. This of course gives us all a good excuse
to buy some more high quality British comedy, and feel good about ourselves at
the same time. Other comedians appearing include Lenny Henry (of course), Matt
Lucas and so on and so forth. They'll all be there!
This year the event will also take members of the public to Africa to see for
themselves the problems faced on a daily basis, and some examples of how the
money raised by previous Red Nose Days have helped.
So - Red Nose Day, themed this year on "Big Hair and Beyond!", March 11th,
all over the BBC!
