find out that the gay character is...

Frankly, I was surprised. Presumably the unbelievably camp Waylon Smithers is
going to have to wait his turn.
Of course, this being television, someone is Officially Upset about it. L
Brent Bozell of the Parents Television Council said "At a time when the public
mood is overwhelmingly against gay marriage, any show that promotes gay marriage
is bucking the public mood." Gosh, really? And where precisely did you get this
information, Mr Bozell?
Fortunately, some other people are Officially Happy about it. The Gay and
Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation welcomed the episode as a 'ray of
light'.
The full episode is called "There's Something About Marriage" and will be
shown in the UK in May, possibly with a parental advisory
warning.
