Veteran performer Ronnie Corbett (the short one) has said he feels that
modern TV is not what he likes at all. "They even show documentaries with the
f-word", he is quoted as saying.
The interview, in the Radio Times, also features Corbett talking about
himself and Ronnie Barker - who is due to join Corbett in a new sketch show
featuring the best of the two Ronnies combined with new material. "We were never
tempremental, fractious or walked out slamming doors. We were fussy, though. We
wanted everything done properly."
Ronnie Corbett joins Victoria Wood and David Jason in recent criticism of
current TV programs, with Wood attacking Sacha Baron Cohen's "horrible" brand of
"victim" humour, and Jason saying that British TV is "too safe and too
cheap".
It seems the veterans of years gone by are no longer happy to sit quietly in
the sidelines.
