After a change of timeslot, the US version of hit sit-com
The Office has seen its rating drop off.
Only 5.9m people watched episode two, after 11.2m had watched
the debut, shown Thursday 24th March. The second episode was beaten by Fox
medical dram House (starring Hugh Laurie!) and three other shows. Ricky Gervais
(pictured) is one of the executive producers.
The US version of the Office has had mixed reviews, with the New
York Daily News saying that "compared to the BBC version, NBC's version is so
diluted there's little left than muddy water" but Time magazine saying the show
was "a daring, unflinching take on very American workplace tensions".
The show is to be shown on BBC3 later in the
year.
