It's the Baftas!
And, as usual, the most popular shows from the last year are all up for
awards. However, here at Funny.co.uk we're focusing mostly on the comedy-related
awards.
The nominations for Best Comedy Performance are Rory Bremner, Julia Davis,
Tamsin Greig and Little Britain's Matt Lucas and David Walliams.
The Catherine Tate Show, Harry Hill's TV Burp, Little Britain and The Mark
Steel Lectures compete for Best Comedy Programme or Series.
Little Britain is not nominated for Best Situation Comedy, however. Black
Books, Green Wing, Nighty Night and The Vicar of Dibley Christmas Special are in
the running for that.
My own personal favourite TV show of the moment, QI, is nominated in the Lew
Grade Award For Entertainment Programme/Series, along with Friday Night With
Jonathan Ross, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! and Strictly Come
Dancing.
These awards, along with awards for Factual Series, Continuing Drama, Drama
Serial, Drama Series, Single Drama and Entertainment Performance (watch out for
Paul Merton, nominated here), Best Actress and Best Actor will be live on the
BBC tonight and hosted by the ever-ready Graham Norton.
All the results shall be up here tomorrow morning for those of you that miss
out on watching it!
