As promised, here are the results from last night's Bafta awards, biased in
favour of the comedy categories.
Best Comedy Performance - Matt Lucas and David Walliams.
No surprises here as Little
Britain
continues it's unstoppable rise to the top, brushing aside Rory
Bremner on the way.
Little Britain won it's second award with the Best
Comedy Programme or Series prize, with Harry Hill
this time left by the wayside.
Best Situation Comedy went to the excellent Black Books, but sadly (in my
opinion of course) the extremely funny QI was beaten to the Lew Grade Award for
Entertainment Programme/Series by I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! And they
say the BBC is dumbing down. Ha.
The best Entertainment Performance saw Paul Merton miss out to Paul O'Grady
for the Paul O'Grady show. Stephen Fry's sterling work in QI also went to the
back of the class for that category.
The last award we'll be mentioning (you can find the rest of the results at
http://www.news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/tv_and_radio/4345533.stm) is that
Michael Palin (aka The Nice One From the Pythons) won an award for Outstanding
Contribution To Television. Bless.
