According to the BBC website, Mr Stephen Fry (most recently seen as the voice
of The
Hitchikers Guide To The Galaxy) is in talks to write an episode of Dr
Who.
Stephen Fry is an acclaimed author, director, comedian and actor, known not
only for his early work with Hugh Laurie but more recently for hosting the TV
series QI.
There were previous rumours that Fry would be the next Time Lord, but since
David Tennant has got the job for at least two series these rumours have, of
course, stopped.
However, dedicated Whovians will know that he has appeared in a couple of
dramatised Dr Who's for radio.
Fry will not be the first comedian to write for Dr Who, as Mark Gatiss of the
League of Gentlemen wrote an episode of the last series, featuring an appearance
by Charles Dickens.
