It has been announced that Harry Hill is currently writing a
script for a new comedy show that he will not be appearing in.
Xtreem
Soap is
planned to be a mass mockery of some of the UK’s top TV soaps; a mix of
Emerdale, Eastenders, The Bill and Holby City where
every standard over-the-top dramatic plotline is given a sardonic
twist.
Set in
the fictional town of Waffingham and revolving around events at the local
duckpond, it is already building a respectable cast list including Darren Day as
art-immitating-alleged-life fillandering pub landlord Arthur, Jan Francis as his
mother, John Tompson as shoe heeler and key cutter Francis and Kate Robbins as
transsexual café owner, Les.
ITV1
has commissioned the pilot episode and this is the first TV project that Hill
has been involved in purely from a creational aspect alone.
