The BBC is investigating after this Thursday's episode of Extras was
discovered for free download on a Swedish website.
The episode, starring Samuel L Jackson, was said to be briefly available but
has now been taken down.
It is only a recent development that TV programmes have become available for
download, although music tracks have been online for some years now. The BBC was
forced to investigate when the first episode of the recent Dr Who series was
available on the Internet three weeks before it launched on BBC One.
A man was tracked down to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, and sacked
from his job.
