As if Little Britain isn't getting enough coverage at the
moment, now the series is going to be featured on the highbrow arts program,
The South Bank Show.
Melvyn Bragg, the show's presenter has been accused of 'dumbing down' for the
sake of high ratings but Bragg hit back stating, "From the very beginning
The South Bank Show has done features on high-quality artists from
across the spectrum."
He insisted that Little Britain was, "hitting new heights of comedy…
It is preposterous that anyone would even think that we are dumbing down."
Walliams and Lucas will be amongst exceedingly good company during this new
series which started on 18th September with Eric Sykes. The South Bank
Show will also be doing features on director Sir Peter Hall, writer Alan
Bennett and violin virtuoso Maxim Vengerov.
