Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones are to reunite for their first BBC show in
several years, producing The Smith and Jones Sketchbook to be screened in the
New Year.
A spokesman said "The show will contain the best of classic Smith and Jones
moments from the first series in 1984 to the last in 1998 - particularly the
famous head-to-head dialogues."
The head-to-heads, you may be interested to know, are recorded exactly as
they appear, with the two comedians virtually touching noses. Presumably breath
mints are used as an aid.
Aside from their TV work, Mel Smith is a successful film director and Griff
Rhys Jones an actor and writer. They have been working together for around
twenty five years.
