Graham Linehan, the much loved creator of Father Ted, is at it again. His new
comey series 'The IT Crowd' premieres on Channel 4 on the 3rd of February.
The lead role is to be played by Chris O'Dowd, another native Irishman. It's
understood that Linehan didn't want to cast another Irish actor in his series,
for fear of comparisons to Father Ted, but was so bowled over by O'Dowd that he
just couldn't say no.
Chris O'Dowd has recently starred in 'Comedian' which won him the award of
'Best Actor in a Scottish Film'. The film revolved around the life and times of
several people at the Edinburgh Festival.
