Little
Britain co-star and UK comedy hot property Matt Lucas is to play Mr Toad in
a new version of the classic Wind In The Willows by Kenneth Grahame.
The story is about Mole, a quiet, shy sort of character who meets up with
Water Rat and embarks on a series of mishaps and adventures, meeting Badger and
of course the irrepressible Mr Toad of Toad Hall. Toad is rude, obnoxious, rich,
obsessed with fast cars and Having Far Too Much Fun For His Own Good.
Lucas, of course, is an extremely talented and professional actor and will
thoroughly enjoy playing such an extroverted role.
The BBC has, as yet, not confirmed a transmission date or other cast members,
but the budget is rumoured to be around £5m.
A previous version of the book starred Terry Jones, Steve Coogan and Eric
Idle. We can only hope the rest of the cast of this version match up to Mr
Lucas!
