A new series of Have
I Got News For You will be starting on the 21st April,
with the familiar faces of Paul Merton and Ian Hislop as the team leaders.
The show is also going to continue it's policy of having guest hosts each
week. This policy was started in 2002, after regular host Angus Deayton was
fired over revelations about his private life. The first guest host will be
retired newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald.
Sir McDonald worked for ITN for thirty-two years until last December and has
won more awards than any other British TV star.
Have I Got News For You will be celebrating it's 31st series, and hoping to
maintain it's reputation for satire and laughs mixed in with a healthy dose of
cynicism and wit.
Previous guest presenters have included Bruce Forsyth, Michael Aspel, Boris
Johnson and Joan Collins.
