The Mirror has, today, released an incredibly damning report on
Craig Charles, star of the incredibly successful Red Dwarf series and,
currently, appearing on Coronation Street.
Charles originally started his comedy career as a performance poet on the
cabaret circuit and eventually earned himself spots on Saturday Live.
He gained himself broader household notoriety when he took on the role of
space-slob Lister in Red Dwarf that ran for eight series between 1988
and 1999. He starred alongside Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Danny
John-Jules.
Other shows he has been involved with include the voice over for
Takeshi's Castle, Jailbreak and Robot Wars.
The Mirror's story claims that when Charles finished his BBC Radio 6
programme, The Craig Charles Funk Show, he spent £600 on drugs, jumped in a car
and spent the four hour journey northbound on a non-stop crack cocaine and porn
bender.
He has been suspended from his radio show and Coronation Street
indefinitely pending further investigation.
