That Ricky Gervais - is there nothing he can't do?
The latest good news for him is that ITV have decided to turn Flanimals into
an animated cartoon series. Flanimals, for those that don't know, are a series
of weird creatures that have previously only been seen in two books.
The series will be written and narrated by Gervais, and shown in six thirty
minute episodes. It is likely to air in 2007 or 2008.
Flanimals will be produced by Caramael Uncut in Bristol, and is going to be a
very interesting mix of claymation combined with CGI effects. Charles Mills and
Terry Brian will direct, following on from their success directing Chicken Run
and Wallace
& Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
There is also a third book of Flanimals coming out on October the 5th,
entitled Flanimals of the Deep.
