With the continuing success of the US version of Ricky Gervais's
The Office, it has been mentioned that employees of the Slough-based
paper company, Wernham Hogg, maybe finding themselves called over to their
Pennsylvanian twin Dunder Mifflin.
Executive producer of the American show for NBC told the New York Post,
"There's a lot of love between (the casts and crews) of the two versions of the
show. Expect some cameos from the UK paper company."
But that's as far as Silverman will go, keeping the specifics close to his
chest and not revealing who the prospective candidates are. However he did say
that neither David Brent nor any other Gervais incarnation would be appearing
any time soon.
"We're going to save the big man for now."
Obvious first choices for the crossover would be those already ingratiating
themselves on our transatlantic cousins; Martin Freeman for his recent film work
(Hitchhiker's
Guide To The Galaxy) and Mackenzie Crook's part in the Pitrates
Of The Carribean franchise.
