It
was confirmed yesterday that Joey, from the hit American comedy series
Friends, is to be given his own spin-off series. American Television
network NBC announced Joey Tribbiani, played by Matt LeBlanc, will star in a new
22-Episode series, which will be called simply: 'Joey'.
The series is set to first air in America in the autumn of 2004, and is set
to replace Friends in NBC's prestigious
Thursday 8pm slot in the schedules. Friends itself, after many false
rumours of each series over the last five years claimed to be "The last series",
is actually set to end in May 2004 (possibly).
Details
of the new series are fairly thin, but it is rumoured that Joey will be
relocating from New York to Los Angeles in an attempt to progress his acting
career.
