The Savages.  Anyone remember it?  Let's recap; Think "2 point 4 children" or "My Family", but actually funny.  There, you've got it.  Surprisingly the BBC sitcom 'The Savages' recieved disappointing ratings when it aired in Britain a couple of years ago.  However, this has not deterred Americal television network 'Fox' (owned by Rupert Murdoch) who have bought the rights to the show.

The Savages, which ran for just a single series on the BBC, was written by top comedy writer Simon Nye, who is famed for writing the hit BBC (and briefly ITV) series Men Behaving Badly.  The series starred standup and comic actor Marcus Brigstocke, along with Victoria Hamilton, and a baby of some description (possibly pictured left).

The show will air to our beloved flag-waving firends in the States in the autumn 2004.
