Are you tired of watching annoying idiots whining on the BBC's consumer
programme 'Watchdog'? Tired of listening to people called Keith, or
Margery, complaining that they handed over £50,000 in cash to a stranger who
turned up on their doorstep promising to pave their drive-way while signing over
a timeshare propery in which they could base their work-from-home operation in
Tenerife filling in pyramid scheme membership forms for only a small upfront fee
of a further £25,000? Then Jack Dee's new show might be for you.
Dee is to front a new Radio 2 programme which takes up the cases of British
consumers who have been wronged by the evil corporations. But in
a twist on the traditional consumer show format you will not find any
sympathy with Jack. If you have fallen victim through your own stupidity
then you are prime fodder for being publicly berated on air by Dee's famous
deadpan wit.
In a statement a BBC spokesperson said: "Jack feels your pain, shares your
outrage, and really cares that batteries weren’t included. Mind you, if you’ve
been a prat, he’ll tell you that too."
A pilot for the show, which will be called "Tell Jack", is being
recorded in London on June 25.
