Sheffield comedian Anthony J Brown has taken home a £1000 prize and a signed
contract from the Jongleurs chain of comedy clubs after winning the final of
their "Stand And Deliver" competition in Edinburgh on Tuesday.
His contract will see him performing regularly in front of audiences of 300
or more accross Jongleurs' network of comedy clubs around the country.
The win for Brown puts an end to the comedy competition winning streak of
London based Welsh comic Rhod Gilbert who, so far this year, has won
competitions at both the York and Leicester comedy festivals and the prestigious
BBC 3 award among others.
The other finalists included Anthony Davidson, Rohan Agalawatta, Ria Lina,
Seymour Mace and John Scott.
