Comedian Billy Connolly has been awarded the CBE in the Queen's birthday honours list.  His place as a mainstay of British comedy for 30 years has earned him the award in recognition of his services to entertainment.

Joining Billy on the list are musicians Sting, Pink Floyd guitarist Dave Gilmour and Jools Holland, former 007 Roger Moore and actress Helen Mirren.

In addition to these an MBE has also been awarded, we believe through some sort of clerical error or childish dare, to "mockney" chef Jamie Oliver for services to pretend friends in irritating supermarket advertising campaigns... Or something.
