Ricky Gervais goes on Tour Posted By Richard (26 February, 2004)

| The star and writer of the smash-hit television
comedy series 'The
Office' is to go on the road to do a national stand-up tour. This will
be Ricky
Gervais
' first stand-up tour of its kind.
After the release of his recent stand-up video and DVD
'Animals ' Gervais
said he didn't want to tour because of laziness, saying: "My last live show was
in the nearest theatre to my flat. If I did a big tour I'd probably net
about £5 million and it would be the worst six weeks of my life."
Despite his previous comments, he has decided to under-go
'the worst six weeks of his life' anyway. In April he will play 12 dates
, touring six UK
cities including Newcastle, York, Oxford, Glasgow and Birmingham.
The tour is called Politics and begins on 4th April 2004 in Newcastle.
