Some news from the other side of the pond now. Entertainment Weekly
magazine has judged stand-up comic Chris Rock to be the funniest man in
America. This award comes despite Rock no-longer being on television
regularly anymore. The decision was fuelled by his hugely successful
current stand-up tour, which is expected to culminate in a television special on
HBO later this year.
The magazine said "Watching Rock in 2004 - 21 years into his comedy career -
is like watching a great prize-fighter in peak condition."
Comedy Central's Jon Stewart was awarded the honour of second place on
Entertainment Weekly's list of the 25 funniest Americans, and Will Ferrell came
third.
The magazines poll also included other top US comics including Larry David,
Dave Chappelle, Ellen DeGeneres, Bill Murray, Jim Carrey and Jack Black.
