A new
national competition is due to kick off throughout May and June to try to find
the funniest ‘clean’ comedian in
Britain
. A
tough job? Maybe it’s long time overdue that we all just try being nice to each
other.
There are eight heats taking
place over the next couple of months with the finals taking place (and being
filmed for a
US
audience) at Jongleurs in
London
.
The winner will be crowned Seed Card Christian comedian of the year and get
£2,000; two runners up will get £500 each.
Did you catch that? You’ve not
just got to be nice but reeeeealy nice. The comedians must, “make an audience
laugh in a good wholesome Christian way,” and jokes that are, “inconsistent with
acceptable Biblical behaviour,” are not accepted.
Presumably jokes about condemning
all gays and non-Christians to the fiery pits of Hades will be okay then.
Got what it takes to make someone
laugh their cassocks off? Contact Jane Wood on 01256 325 162 or email comedtytour@seedcard.com for more
