A Lifetime
of comedy. Well, for a fruit-fly, anyway. Award winning (2003 Daily
Telegraph Open Mic) stand-up, Mark Watson, has a bold mission in mind; he hopes
to put on the first twenty-four hour comedy show forEdinburgh.
Entitled Mark Watson's Overambitious 24-Hour Show
it is due to commence at 00:00, 22nd August and should include, “stand-up … a
mini-play, sketches, … celebrity guests, multimedia bits … perhaps an entire
film [and] ‘satellite links’ to other shows.”
Basically anything that might add
some padding and allow him a few moments of shut eye every now and
again.
Watson has still got to find an
established venue (“I'm hoping to create my own venue out of a van or a tent”)
to host the show but, being a published novelist (Bullet Points) is also
planning to write a book about the entire project. On top of all that he’s also
got a BBC sitcom in discussion and second novel underway too.
What a talented, successful, and
ambitious young man he is. How I hate him.
