The Newcastle Comedy Festival has attracted some of the biggest names in
British comedy over the past few years. However, until now the event has
only been held in indoor venues across the city. Now the organisers of
the event are planning on changing this by holding a large open-air concert as
the highlight of this years event.
The centre-piece of the the festival is to take place at Exhibition Park, with
marquees holding around fifteen hundred people.
The festival is part of a multi-million pound programme of events to be held
in Newcastle up until 2010, aimed at boosting the area following the
disappointment of losing out on the Capital of Culture title to Liverpool.
We'll give you more details of the event when we have them.
