The second York Comedy Festival is now officially underway, starting
tonight with Iranian comedian turned Hollywood movie-star Omid Djalili.
Funny.co.uk will be there to review many of the events taking place throughout
the week long festival.
You can find full details of all the events taking place
on our York Festival
2004 Line-up page
. Tickets are still available for many of the shows.
The festival culminates with next Saturday's National
Talent Hunt final at Harkers in St. Helen's Square, which last year saw Rhod Gilbert
awarded the
grand prize. You can catch the heats for the competition, also at Harkers,
throughout the week.
If you fancy doing something a little different then get
yourself to the west end of the York Minster in time for 7pm. For just £3
you can be taken on an entertaining, although probably wildly
inaccurate, walking tour of the city with Howard
Spencer-Mosley and Richard Massara. The Walk takes place tonight,
Sunday, Wednesday
and
Friday and with most of the other shows starting around 8pm it's
worth getting into York a bit early for that little extra! Mention Funny.co.uk to your
guides and receive an exclusive hug!
