Sheffield is joining the ranks of major towns and cities in the UK to
offer comedy fans a concentrated hit of top quality stand-up, in the form of a
comedy festival.
Organisers Scott Barton and BBC Radio presenter Toby Foster (pictured) are
planning the 'Grin up North' comedy festival for next October. The pair
are hoping to offer some of the best acts from the summers Edingburgh Festival
to South Yorkshire, and if successful, hope to make the festival an annual
event.
In additional to comedy they hope to be able to offer theatrical productions,
cinema and street theatre, in addition to an open mic contest.
