The
'Babycham Funny Women Comedy Awards' is seeking new female
comedy talent across the UK, starting with the first event in London on Tuesday

stand-up for less than 3 years and will provide a great platform for female
comics in this heavily male dominated industry. The other equally important
objective is to support Funny Women, which raises money for breast cancer
charities.
The
winner gets £2,000 plus a paid gig at the Comedy Store and a coveted place on
the bill at the 'Funny Women Comedy Gala' in October, alongside many well known
comics and celebrities.
Competitors
will perform for 7 minutes in front of live audiences at showcase events in the
following cities: London, Bristol, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow and the
competition culminates on Monday 7th July with the final at the
Comedy Store, London. The showcases are also open to the public, so come and
support Britain's newest comedy talent. Up to 10 women will perform at the final
